絵馬 / 破魔矢 (Ema / Hama Ya)
Ema are votive plaques of the Shinto Shrine. Usually people write the "negai-goto"
(wish words) on the back of the ema and hang them in a particular place in the
shrine grounds (ema kake) if you would like to receive the ema, write wish words
on it and have the shrine staff hang on the ema kake you may return it to Tsubaki
Jinja. Sometimes people like to keep the ema as a souvenir of the shrine.
