MEANING OF ETO

In Japan astrology is comprised of 3 elements---the teaching of Heaven, the teaching of Earth and the teaching of Humankind.

The teaching of Heaven is the Jikkan: the 10 celestial stems----the inner and outer aspects of the 5 elements

The Teaching of Earth is the Junishi: the 12 directions, 12 zodiac animals.

The teaching of Man is the Kyusei Kigaku: the 9-star KI

For example, 2012

Heisei 24/ Mizunoe= 9th element of Jikkan; elder water/ Tatsu Doshi= Year of the Dragon/ Roppayku Kinsei= #6 White Metal Star

Mizunoe

Our human bodies are comprised of an infinite number of cells. Mizunoe, the 9th element of the Jikkan (10 celestial stems) refers to the state in which restless infinite movements are taking place to form our bodies. Sacred Earth is mother to all beings and water is the mother to all life. The workings of water make the birth all creatures possible.it possible. Mizunoe signifies these workings.
Mizunoe also refers to the state of being pregnant. It means that all things are being nurtured underneath the earth, waiting for the spring to arrive. While being nurtured underneath the earth, they acquire and are infused with strengths to be reborn once above ground. Mizunoe is also mothers nurturing their babies. Fallen fruits do wither and die. However, inside these fruits are the seeds for the next generation ripe with new life force.

Tatsu (The Dragon)

2012 will be the Tatsu-doshi, the year of the Dragon. The Dragons position is in the East South East direction. Tatsu/ dragon implies a firm yet cautious determination to continue moving towards the ideal regardless of various obstacles and hindrances. Further, Dragon signifies “upper”, Ten/Heaven , Kami and ideal, and is also associated with shin (vibration), shin (growth) and shin (to appear in the eastern sky).

Each human being has his or her own unique mission to accomplish. The Ki of Tatsu/Dragon means whether we can realize these unique missions in accordance with the flow of the Ki of Nature (Shizen). Unexpected changes or disasters can appear if the proper method had not been followed....situations can deteriorate. Further difficulty can arise after having broken the shell of the previous structure/pattern. This would make it difficult for a bud to grow. Tatsu/ the Dragon symbolizes the state of growth. Although all things may not grow as smoothly as planned, they will progress at their own pace. The Ki of Yang is more active than ever and ultimately encourages growth and progress.

The Ki of Yang--- or positive Ki --- is associated with Shin (to appear in the eastern sky). This means the stage where owing to the light and warmth and vitality of the sun, trees are growing much more actively. Tatsu/ Dragon suggests these vibrant trees as well as roots penetrating deeply into the earth, absorbing water and inexorably moving the earth or rocks that stand in their path.
The danger point of Tatsu Doshi is that it is a time when natural disasters such as avalanches, mudslides, gales and tornadoes are likely to happen.

Roppaku Kinsei (#6 white metal star)--prosperity

In Shinto understanding the numbers from 1 to 9 is to understand the law and flow of Nature. This is known as Kyusei Kigaku the 9 Star Ki. In Shinto there is the HI FU MI Norito, the important prayer based on the numbers from 1 to 9 and then completion at 10.
2012 will be the Roppyaku Kinsei Chugu / #6 white metal star will occupy the center position and constitute the yearly KI. The innate position of Roppyaku Kinsei is in the Northwest corner...corresponding to position of "the Mother"--also meaning the time when fruit has ripened---the evening---the Autumn. This is a year in which we will realize rewards of previous years efforts. It is a year when carefully avoiding dishonesty or overconfidence we can follow our natural desires. In the Roppaku Kinsei year please be careful regarding borrowing or lending money....it is year to carefully manage resources. Roppaku Kinsei generally means good health...however an irregular lifestyle can lead to exhaustion. If you damage your health due to excess in the Roppaku Kinsei year the effects can be long lasting. Please be careful to have the natural and sustaining diet and be careful of accidents. This is the good year for self development and a year to listen carefully to advice of others.

The Year 2011 has been the most tumultuous in recent memory---- Japan experienced and continues to experience the Higashi Nihon Daishinsai/ earthquake and Fukushima disaster... by the way by the end of this year the last of the homeless shelters can be closed....Japan also experienced a record number of Typhoon landfalls, the world witnessed the Arab Spring, the US had the record year for Tornadoes as well as record drought in other regions and also experienced Occupy Wall Street... the continued environmental and socio-political situation is of course weighing heavily on all caring people...........

2012 will be Mizunoe Tatsu Doshi Roppaku Kinsei Chugu... the 9th element of Jikkan/ Dragon Year / #6 White metal Star year... such a year implies continued danger for flood and earth upheavals as well as cyclonic activity....

What can we do to cope and move forward ------- the answer is the the heart and mind of daily gratitude for life itself ---- if we can manifest the heartfelt gratitude for the divine sunshine--- seek cooperation with the life giving forces as well as all beings and things we encounter our spirituality will be raised and we can become closer Kami ----we will receive inspiration form the divine world and vitality from the Earth itself......

Please practice Misogi, even in the shower or by washing your hands and face and and then praying before Kamidana or Ofuda:

HARAE TAMAE KIYOME TAMAE ROKKONSYOJO
